Siri Assistant http://snapvoip.blogspot.com/
If you had downloaded the Stand alone Siri App, now will see this message when you open the app! It is because Apple has removed the previous Siri Assistant app from the App Store in preparation for the launch of the iPhone 4S. Why you may ask and there is a very good reason, with the release of iPhone 4 and iOS 5, the Siri Assistant features are integrated in iOS 5.
The app, which came to be in February 2010 and then Apple acquired the company Siri, in April 2010, The Siri Assistant offered natural-language search features to provide users with movie times, restaurant reservations, and more.

http://snapvoip.blogspot.com/
Apple just announced that iTunes App Store downloads has passed one billion mark. This all happened in a span of nine months and I think itself is a record!
Yes the contest for the billionth app download has been won by a 13 year old! Connor Mulcahey, of Weston, CT as the grand prize winner will receive a $10,000 iTunes® gift card, an iPod® touch, a Time Capsule® and a MacBook® Pro. The one billionth app, was Bump created by Bump Technologies.
“The revolutionary App Store has been a phenomenal hit with iPhone and iPod touch users around the world, and we’d like to thank our customers and developers for helping us achieve the astonishing milestone of one billion apps downloaded,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing. “In nine months, the App Store has completely revolutionized the mobile industry and this is only the beginning.”

iTunes Pricing Change, Popular Songs Cost More ($1.29)
iTunes Flexible Pricing
After setting it's price of $0.99 in 2003 and resisting pressure from music industry, Apple has changed it's tune and now playing along with record labels to make popular songs unpopular. The iTunes came along and helped stabilize the confused online music industry and Apple managed to stay clear of industry wranglings upto now.
"Wouldn't it make sense to try to price it cheaper instead of squeezing the handful of people who are still willing to pay for music?" said Jim Guerinot, the manager of groups such as Nine Inch Nails, No Doubt and Offspring.
What Record companies hoping to achieve is to package music like they did before sell more music by packaging less popular songs with popular ones. Like when we went to CD or record store and bought a CD with 11 songs just to listen to one or two songs.
My feeling is that this might not work out as they hope. I will not a buy a bunch of songs to listen to one, period.
One good thing about this whole saga is that in exchange for flexible prices, the digital tracks will be offered free of anti-piracy software, enabling the buyer to make unlimited copies and play the songs on any device, which is not currently possible.
But that should have been so in the first place!
Now is to the question, what is popular? PR is going to be a nightmare as LA Times say.

iTunes 8.1, Better iTunes
http://snapvoip.blogspot.com/Apple has announced the availability of iTunes 8.1 with a bunch of improvements. But the best I noticed was, 64Bit iTunes, which I have been waiting for a while.
Improvements include;
• Supports syncing with iPod shuffle (3rd generation).
• Allows friends to request songs for iTunes DJ.
• Adds Genius sidebar for your Movies and TV Shows.
• Improves performance when downloading iTunes Plus songs.
• Provides AutoFill for manually managed iPods.
• Allows CDs to be imported at the same sound quality as iTunes Plus.
• Includes many accessibility improvements.
• Allows iTunes U and the iTunes Store to be disabled separately using Parental Controls.

BlackBerry Media Sync For MAC!

The Boy Genius has found a beta Blackberry Media Sync for mac and has been playing with it. From the look of it, it is very promising and seem to give all those benefits that we got with the PC version.
Do not confuse this with the pocketMac for Blackberry. The real deal and you can see more screen shots and information at BGR site!
I think the whole MAC world is hitting BGR at the moment and so be patient.
