Google Voice, Threat To AT&T and Other Telcos!, Telco 2.0 Executive Brief

Andy Abramson directed me to a great post, a brief,  by Telco 2.0 about Google voice. I like the way Andy describes it;

Google Voice was being viewed as a threat by Apple-because it's about the control of the data around the call, not the voice.

About what Telco 2.0 warned;

Google Voice, managing Customer Data, and Location Services will be among the key battlegrounds where Telcos' emerging business models and Google are likely to clash, according to a new Telco 2.0 Briefing to be published in October. 

Yes it is what I feel too (Apple Blocks Google Voice, Looks Like AT&T telling Apple What To Do!)
, what ever the AT&T and Apple gang told FCC, I still think it is both, trying to crush Google (Whoa did I say that?) [please ad voice]. Anyway Good Luck Apple and AT&T, I already use Google Voice, the one you blocked, from my iPhone anyway. Learn that your users are a intelligent bunch and they are getting better, everyday.
But there is something Telco 2.0 got wrong;

“Let my boss call my mobile only between 9am and 7pm, and always divert my mother-in-law to voicemail”.

 It is other way around for me, my boss calls me all the time and most of the time sent to VM (to show I am busy and only to call back) my mother-in-law makes me answer, by being so sweet!

Apple Makes You Go WhaaaT? 1394 Apps Approved On Oneday!

AppShopper has a nice graphs showing despite what is going on with apps like Google Voice App rejection, Apple is on rampage approving apps, last Friday, it approved 1394 Apps. I wonder how Apple finds time with it's limited staffing. FCC might want to know too!
But who cares, they approves another 300 games and I have a few Gigabytes open on my iPhone.

"Apple made it impossible for our customers to receive the fixes, updates, and support by pulling the app. We were fulfilling our end of the bargain. Why should those refunds come out of our pocket?" says Duerr. "The refund issue and lack of respect for our mutual customers has further soured us on the belief that Apple cares at all about their developers … other than the dollars they bring in."
That is a part of what Kevin Duerr, developer of VoiceCentral Google Voice app for iPhone said in an interview with Maclife.
Well I really wonder what Apple is up to, they could have done this much better.

Microsoft has recently given an walk through of the Redmond's new Windows Phone operating system, Windows Mobile 6.5, running on a touch screen HTC Touch Diamond2. If you remember a Touch Diamond II with Windows Mobile 6.5 was lost in February this year, by Telstra CEO Sol Trujillo
From the video, it seems everyone is happy about the new windows mibile 6.5 and I like the new interface which everyone call Zune-esque. But I think it is unique and advanced that Microsoft now can call it even the wiPhone, if they wanted to.
The interface carries 24 bit icons that replaces the folder like buttons on older Windows mobile and available through out the menu functions.
The Market Place for Windows Phone (wiPhone) was demonstrated as well and is similar to the iTunes App Store for iPhone and iPod Touch, a source of controversial Google Voice app rejection.
I am planing to explore the wiPhone store, soon as I get my new wiPhone, I think it will be one of the HTC phones, like Touch Diamond II.
I think the new sync for wiPhone going to be a hit. The software is capable of uploading a mobile's contents up to the cloud via a Windows Live account. A user / owner of the wiPhone could remotely wipe the phone in the event of a loss or theft. The replacement phone will be populated with all the users SMS, emails and contact, seamlessly.

The story is that the new wiPhone OS will be out before Christmas and most probably together with the WIndows 7!
Way to go Microsoft.
