Apple To Earth : We Have Not Rejected Google Voice App! We Are Studying It

Apple & AT&T Explains (NOT) Why They Rejected Google Voice.
Man this reminds me of how we studied at Uni. Lots of beers and pizza and no books. Looks like Apple is doing the same with Google Voice. Wrapped in what looks like truck loads of horse manure, Apple and AT&T have released their whys and what nots regarding Google Voice App Rejection. But read as much as you want but you might not find why Apple rejected the Google Voice App. If you do let us know!

Apple has it the best!,

Contrary to published reports, Apple has not rejected the Google Voice application, and continues to study it. The application has not been approved because, as submitted for review, it appears to alter the iPhone’s distinctive user experience by replacing the iPhone’s core mobile telephone functionality and Apple user interface with its own user interface for telephone calls, text messaging and voicemail. Apple spent a lot of time and effort developing this distinct and innovative way to seamlessly deliver core functionality of the iPhone. For example, on an iPhone, the “Phone” icon that is always shown at the bottom of the Home Screen launches Apple’s mobile telephone application, providing access to Favorites, Recents, Contacts, a Keypad, and Visual Voicemail. The Google Voice application replaces Apple’s Visual Voicemail by routing calls through a separate Google Voice telephone number that stores any voicemail, preventing voicemail from being stored on the iPhone, i.e., disabling Apple’s Visual Voicemail. Similarly, SMS text messages are managed through the Google hub—replacing the iPhone’s text messaging feature. In addition, the iPhone user’s entire Contacts database is transferred to Google’s servers, and we have yet to obtain any assurances from Google that this data will only be used in appropriate ways. These factors present several new issues and questions to us that we are still pondering at this time.

The following applications also fall into this category.

  • Name: GVDialer / GVDialer Lite
    Developer: MobileMax

  • Name: VoiceCentral

We have to ask really?

But you have to give it to AT&T for giving you the horse, directly;
"2(a). Did Apple consult with AT&T in the process of deciding to reject the Google
Voice application?
No."
Which I would say REALLY?
You can read them for yourselves watch out for horse manure;

FCC Wants To Know What Is Up With Google Voice App For iPhone Rejection

Google Voice For iPhone Saga.
ThechCrunch all three letters that FCC sent out. I enjoyed reading all of them. I specially like the letter to Apple. But what I don't like is that when all three companies report by August 21, they can request confidentiality on all or portions of their answers.
All the links at the bottom of the article.

We were all mad (more than normal) and some even gave up iPhone, reacting to Apple's decision to lick that big striped but hollow ball of AT&T and reject Google Voice iPhone App. (Some people like Andy Abramson, whom I respect has other ideas but I like the AT&T ball version.)
Now the big daddy of air and other signal carrying waves, FCC wants to know what is up with Google Voice App rejection and whole sale purging of other apps that supported Google Voice! Yes Me too, Way to Go FCC! FCC is requesting information from all three companies involved, Apple, AT&T and Google! Hey what about us?
FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski said it "has a mission to foster a competitive wireless marketplace, protect and empower consumers, and promote innovation and investment." But engadget wants more, they are asking Julius to fix, Slingbox and Skype. Hey I only know about Uninstalling Skype, specially now that Skype App runs on my iPhone and works great, I even bought Skype credit.
