Apple have apparently pulled the jailbreak detection code from the latest iOS update. The jailbreak detection was introduced about six months ago.
According to Network World, without explaining why Apple pulled the code, has yet mentioned that it has other methods of detecting jailbroken iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch, citing the same old song about iOS security as the reason for not jailbreaking an iDevice. It is also playing the tune, that jailbreaking will void the warranty and could damage the iPhone. Well my iPhone is out of warranty and already broken? So am I free to Jailbreak? I will double check once I get my Google Nexus S :).
The code was a part of the Mobile Device Management (MDM) APIs was present since iOS 4.0 was released but it is absent or disabled from the iOS 4.2.
Jailbreaks themselves became a Jailbreak war when rival developers started known vulnerabilities at the same time giving Apple to shutdown those holes in the iOS, all at once.
But vendors who were using these APIs to detect jailbroken idevices without the help of the Apple API. Running a series deeper iOS call tests and when detected block or restrict those phones.

Even though iPhone OS 3.x is a preemptive multitasking operating system, it restricts apps sans the specific ones bundled with the system by Apple, from running in the background.
But AppleInsider is saying that all this will change with iPhone OS 4.0. Without much detail, Apple has mentioned that it will address the long running debate about iPhone multitasking.
Currently the applications like phone, SMS, email, iPod, voice recorder, Nike+ are capable of operating in the background while the user launches another app. All other apps including some from Apple are restricted from doing so.
Jailbroken iPhones are already running multitasking and so the critics say the real thing too should.

New iPhone Worm Targets Jailbroken iPhones!

Unlike to previously released harmless worm, the new iPhone worm is looking for Dutch ING customers who login via their Jailbroken iPhone and iPod Touch. But it is also the clueless users who installs SSH and leave the default password unchanged that get victimized. This worm uses command-and-control like a traditional PC botnet, using two startup scripts. First one runs on boot-up invoking the worm and the second creates a connection to a Lithuanian server (HTTP) to upload stolen data and let the perpetrators know about the victim
So if you are using a jailbroken iPhone, and have SSH installed, change the password!
You can do that by visiting Cydia app store and installing the MobileTerminal App. Once you have the app, run it and use the passwd command to change the default from "alpine" to whatever you want but something better than rockies.
But if you really want the App freedom, there are many fine Android phones.

QuickPWN Your iPhone To Get The Best Apps (How To JailBreak iPhone / iPod)
http://snapvoip.blogspot.com/Gizmodo is having a good article telling how to get much more out of your iPhone. I have been looking at these apps and if Apple does not come out with apps like this, I may have to jailbreak iPhone and visit Cydia App Store.
Currently following (short list) are the best apps that a jailbroken iPhone could have and I want all of them!
This is what you can do with a phone that has been jailbroken:
• iPhone as a 3G modem with your laptop.
• Record video using Cycorder.
• Unlock your iPhone installing a simple program, so you can use a pre-paid card when you go out on vacation instead of paying outrageous roaming charges.
• Follow speech turn-by-turn directions in a GPS program.
• Copy and paste (yes, copy and paste).
• Play Nintendo Entertainment System games and other emulated classic cames (like Monkey Island!) well I really don't NEED this.
Gizmodo article carries you throgh how to jailbreak, through various methods including QuickPWN and get cydia Apps and others listed above running on your computer. All come with the following warning and yes follow it and do it;
*WARNING* Of course, the usual do this at your own risk and we are not responsible caveats still apply, but this process is really fool proof thanks to Apple's iTunes factory reset. If you are looking to unlock your iPhone now or in the future, DON'T USE THESE INSTRUCTIONS or you won't be able to unlock it. Ustream iPhone Released, iScream 4 iStream
http://snapvoip.blogspot.com/Ustream announced that they releasing Ustream Mobile. According to the blog, Ustream Mobile Applications were designed and developed by Ustream for Ustreamers. Furthermore it is mentioned that mobile applications are Truly Live, have Audience interaction via Twitter and are Fully Interactive with Yes/No one-click polls and real-time chat, and even are GPS enabled.
But there is a hitch at the moment for iPhone users. As Apple is yet to approve the streaming application to be delivered via iTunes App Store, if you really need to run the application, you need to jailbreak your iPhone.
But what the app shows is that iPhone camera is capble of producing video and the phone it self can keep up with it. So Apple, either allow apps like this and Cycorder, or let us jailbreak!

Mac Plus Emulator For iPhone

My experience on a Mac Plus was at a computer museum but If you are a real fan, you can get that on you iPhone now as an emulator! Named Fork has created a Virtual Mac Plus, called Mini Vmac. Aa Mac Plus Emulator with 4MB memory, Full Screen and a complete keyboard together with sound so you could easily hear those beeps and clicks!
What You Need;
- Jailbroken iPhone or iPod Touch
- iPhone OS 2.x
- Mac Plus ROM image
- Mac disk images
