The Spotify iPhone application has been approved for iTunes App store and now the Swedish music streaming service, Spotify could stream music to millions of iPhones.
"We're not surprised but we're thrilled," founder Daniel Ek told BBC News. "We had a great dialogue with Apple from day one."
We reported in July about Spotify app for the iPhone and also a video of how Spotify App works. The Spotify app is provided free from the App store, but you need to have an account on premium Spotify Channel which costs 9.99 EURO.
Many consider Spotify to be a rival to Apple's iTunes store with its humongous free library of songs which is at 229,221 tracks at the moment (ycan see the list in a few spreadsheets: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6, Part 7. )
The application is currently only available for users in Europe and the company expects to bring its presence to USA and other areas soon.
