Truphone announced today a major upgrade to its Android application with the launch of Truphone for Android v2.0. According to Truphone, the new truphone application for Android 2.0 is faster, more responsive and easier to use with a native interface.
Truphone for Android and other media like Truphone for iPhone, provides an all-in-one conversations hub. It allows Truphone users to take advantage of low international call rates, (The customer also pays for a local call to Truphone Gateway). The application works by making a local GSM call to the Truphone gateway  and the call is then routed over the Truphone network to it's true destination.
Truphone also allows users to make voice calls to skype and Google talk buddies for similar costs as above. Another part of Truphone is the capability of IM that works across Skype and Google Talk(TM), MSN Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger, AIM and Twitter all from one application and for free. (IM works over 3G and the users need a data plan for it to work)

Apple iPhone OS 3.0 Bug Is Not Unique To Truphone

I just read Andy's post about Truphone and iPhone bug that was widely published.
"This afternoon this afternoon Truphone sent an emailout to its customers explaining that Truphone knows of a bug issue with the Apple iPhone that has existed since the launch of the 3.0 OS in June 2009.

The issue has been widely reported on sites including Mobile Crunch and theiphoneblog. The problem, as was outlined in the email, impacts all applications on a the iPhone, not just the Truphone application. With that said, the bug seems to have affected very few people that Truphone is aware of."

I just installed Truphone for iPhone OS 3.0 on my iPhone 3G. But the information I am going to give you does not come from my experience. Since I had trouble with my account and I will fix it tomorrow, when I will be able to think properly!
This is newly released iPhone OS 3.0 compatible version of Truphone for the iPhone is now available to download from iTunes Store.
In addition to all the great features, Truphone for iPhone OS 3.0 now comes with voicemail notification. This is a completely free feature just as receiving calls. Retrieving and listening to your voicemail message will not cost you a cent.

TruPhone Brings Skype And More To iPhone!

According to a post on Techcrunch, TruPhone has integrated skype into truphone client, making it in to unified,( IM, VoIP and GSM Voice) client for iPhone. Truphone already had low cost calls over Wi-Fi or GSM networks and send cheap SMS for iPhone, and now with Skype support, one app will bring in most of your communication needs for iPhone from within one unified iPhone client.
We already have truphone on Blackberry, here. In addition to that truphone was the first ever SIP client on iPhone. And don't forget that this is the company that took T-Moblie to court to stop it from blocking it's services.
TC mentions that he software comes out on Jan. 12. Once installed, you’ll be able to make and receive Skype calls and IM to other Skype users.
In addition to Skype, Truphone has also added full two-way instant messaging over MSN Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger and Google Talk on the iPod touch as of now and on Jan. 12 for the iPhone. It had Twitter integration already implemented.
I am begining to like this truphone iPhone client! already!
