Google has confirmed the Nexus one, the Google Phone with Google logo and all. You can buy the phone without service and insert your own SIM card for $529 and you will also get a Nexus One phone case, wall charger, and USB cable and free shipping in the continental US.
The phone with T-Mobile 2 year contract is $179.
In addition Verizon will also carry the phone in 2010 Spring. Vodafone will bring the phone to Europe in early 2010 as well.

Nexus One Google Mobile Phone, Might Be The First Phone Excitement In The New Year.

According to various news sources, Nexus One will be out on January 5th, 2010 at prices ranging from $180 with two year contract with T-Mobile and $530 "unlocked".
Either way the phone will be a powerful one and the second coming of Google Phone. The initial Google Phone Coming Soon did well for Google and in some what micro scale to this blog.
Sources also tell us that outside of T-Moble (say AT&T) the phone will operate in 2G mode. So it might be worth while to do some research before jumping in with a Nexus One. I am opting to upgrade one of our T-Mobile G1 phones.

AT&T Gives Two Lumps Of Coal To Apple, For Holidays!

First it was a big honcho wanting to charge iPhone users for using data, that they called unlimited for $30 (NOT!) and secondly massive network failure in San Francisco that AT&T yet to officially acknowledge. Apple is not getting what it wants for the holidays and Google is surfing the waves with it's Nexus One or the latest Google Phone. And them Droids are sending smiles home!
The difference is Nexus One is not exclusive like iPhone and overpromising and underdelivering networks like AT&T or any other network will have to deliver to get and keep users. Google Phone will take care of GSM phones and Verizon and it's Droids are making strids as we write this.
I hope AT&T will revamp it's network and not break the contracts by charging more for data. That will keep me at least for the duration of the contract. After contract ends you can beg me to renew, but I doubt I will.

After looking at the the New Google phone photos yesterday and checking out twitter post by Googler, it is now confirmed that Googlers are fed with Android Dog Food for the holidays. I guess that would be, indeed a good Xmas gift thanks to Google Mobile Lab!
According to Google Mobile Blog, the new device, the Google phone has been given to Googlers across the globe and we can expect to hear from those folks soon I guess.

The Google Phone is rumored to be a customized version of HTC's HD2 and will be an unlocked phone that could run on T-Mobile or AT&T networks. It is a GSM Phone.
The phone is equipped with snapdragon chip you interface with via a hires OLED touchscreen. The on screen keyboard is complemented by voice to text feature to compose anything that need to be typed!

Google Phone, The Super Android Has Come!

The blogsphere  was awash with the news of new Google Phone dubbed the super android has actually made to some googlers hands, like the one below, a product manager, Leslie Hawthorn, (Hope you were not driving!) at Google. But it seems that everyone is trying to imply that it is better than iPhone. Of course it is. Come January, I will get a new Google Phone too! Still cannot forget the original "Google Phone Coming Soon!" two years and four months ago.

Google Phone Coming Again, Soon, The Super Android

After we published about the first Google Phone, "Google phone coming soon", it went on the digg to become most dugg article on SnapVoIP. Now again, Google is planing another upheaval in the mobilesphere according to TechCrunch.
Micheal goes into say that the phone will be made by HTC and seems be carried around by testers at Google / Android team. It is or similer to The HTC Dragon / HTC Passion which is equipped with 1Ghz Snapdragon processor, run Android 2.0 with HTC Sense, have a 480×800 capacitive touch screen display. Basically a more powerful Droid without a keyboard.
Perhaps the Droid iPhone war will pave the way for the real Google phone, which is slated to become unique to Google as the iPhone was to Apple. I am looking forward to it and I have a feeling that it will provide BlackBerry users what they do not find in an iPhone.
Taking all the rumors (all of the above included) also suggesting that LG Electronics might be building the Google Phone instead of HTC.
But the best so far is that The Super Android, the Google Phone II will be a VoIP and data phone. 3G or 4G Android, based on the carrier.

mUC, mobile Unified Communications comes to Android via ESCAUX. The company announced a full Unified Communication application for the HTC G1 Smartphone, which we all call Android or Google Phone.
The application is said to integrate Android G1, entirely in their open platform. All features of the net.Desktop, such as presence, Instant Messaging, status, click-to-dial, e-mail, etc..will be available for the users, wherever they are. The fixed and mobile devices will be fully integrated will inherit one single number.
The Company will be presenting the product and others at CEBIT (Hall 13 - SNOM booth, 3-8 March, Hannover).

Android Based HTC G2 Photos?

Gizmodo has some photos of Android G2, from HTC, the company which made Android G1, otherwise known as T-Mobile G1. But we still prefer the Google Phone moniker. Gizmodo says that the source of the news and photos has mentioned the phone to be out by Mid May 2009.

Android Emulator, Next Best Thing To Android Developer Device

Android has made bounds as leaps ever since Goggle decided to go with Google phone. We all were waiting for coming of the Google phone but at last it turned out to be the Android, together with OHA, Open Handset Alliance.
Then came the T-Mobile G1 and for various reasons and other, people rushed to get one. I did not because of some mouth off about no VoIP by a big honcho at T-Mobile. I have been playing and porting my gPhone application(s) with the Android Emulator, which is this article is about.
But winds have changed and the Android developer device, a hardware unlocked G1 is available to android developers. Yes, I am Getting one. But the price might hit some good developers in far away lands. So get the Android emulator. I have already finished one vertical market and private application that runs on Android, without ever touching the T-Mobile G1.
To give a brief explanation about the Android Emulator, (because I an sending you off to the emulator site soon to get all the information you need), it is a QEMU-based application that provides a virtual ARM mobile device on which you can run your Android applications. It provides a full Android system stack, down to the kernel level, and includes a set of pre-installed applications (such as the dialer) that you can access from your applications. It provides a skinnable mobile device UI, customizable key mappings, and a variety of commands and options for controlling the behaviors of the emulated environment.

The Android system image distributed in the SDK contains ARM machine code for the Android Linux kernel, the native libraries, the Dalvik VM, and the various Android package files (such as for for the Android framework and preinstalled applications). The emulator's QEMU layers provide dynamic binary translation of the ARM machine code to the OS and processor architecture of your development machine.

Adding custom capabilities to the underlying QEMU services, the Android emulator supports many hardware features likely to be found on mobile devices, including:

• An ARMv5 CPU and the corresponding memory-management unit (MMU)
• A 16-bit LCD display
• One or more keyboards (a Qwerty-based keyboard and associated Dpad/Phone buttons)
• A sound chip with output and input capabilities
• Flash memory partitions (emulated through disk image files on the development machine)
• A GSM modem, including a simulated SIM Card

So go get the Android, at least an emulator, until you get the real one. Also don't forget the Android 1.0 SDK, release 2. Now I have to port that application to iPhone!

Google Phone (Android) VS iPhone Apps

MSNBC's Suzanne Choney has written an article about Android (Google Phone) applications, specially which are not available on iPhone. And some (Shopsavvy) that can not be available on iPhone, unless some in gets the iPhone camera to read barcodes.
There are more than 400 apps for Andriod based phones and more are coming as the Android Marked is being fueled by the open source developer forces. Personally I like what Android phone does but now I am using iPhone to full fill my needs. I will see to it when Android gets released by another carrier as I am not particularly not happy with current Android offerings. But the article "Android apps that aren't on the iPhone" is an informative source and may help you in deciding which phone to get!

After putting a 1GB limit on "unlimited data plan", T-Mobile now has back paddled and changed the text on their website. But now it says something really vague about data usage.

Android, T-Mobile G1, A Phone For Smart People.

The advertisements are already out for T-Mobile G1 (HTC Dream) , the first commercially available Android phone. It was good to hear about the press conference in New York but we did not get a chance to attend! I was busy replicating very important Oracle servers, all over the world, I did not even get to attend Oracle World This time!
The phone it self is going to be cheaper than iPhone and according to many not glitzy enough. (Any way I am not a big bling bling man, except for good watches.). HTC / Google /T-Mobile G1 will sell for $180 for existing customers and and comes with two data plans: $25 a month which gives unlimited Web access and limited text messaging and $35 a month with unlimited everything. I will write more about the phone, later today

Android Phone (HTC Dream) To Carry Google Brand!

According to the rumors and news, the Android phone will have Google brand on them and I think it is only fitting. Google has stepped up to the plate and shaken the stances that mobile phone companies, all of them, iron grips on us.
The forth coming HTC Dream that will be released soon. The price is estimated to be $199 and T-Mobile will reveal the plans that it says are aggressive, soon. After all we have been saying Google Phone Coming Soon for long time!
May be those iPhones may have a real competition!

Google Phone Coming Soon From T-Mobile. T-Mobile G1

What I have said a long time ago, Google Phone Coming Soon, Has been repeated by T-Mobile.
T-Mobile has announced that it is going to have a press conference on September 23 to announce the release of T-Mobile G1, the HTC Dream based on Google Android code.

Nokia Gives Another Reason To Buy An iPhone Or A Google Phone

In it's all wisdom, Nokia seem to have shot it self in the foot by disabling VoIP calls on some of it's phones as Giga Om reports. (I have not tested myself the facts and I have read Giga Om long enough to trust it with facts.). I think it is moronic for Nokia to take this step just to please the carriers.
…the N78 (and also to affect the forthcoming N96) which is that Nokia has very quietly and seemingly sneakily redacted their built-in VoIP / SIP implementation in all phones that come with Symbian Series 60 3rd generation Feature Pack 2 (otherwise abbreviated as S60 3.2).
Since I do not have all the facts, I will direct you to Giga Om's article, enjoy reading and get an iPhone or Blackberry! Ofcourse you can wait a little for the Google Phone thai is coming soon.
