HTC is the first Android device make Apple sued in it's Droid Wars series and currently in the courts. HTC does not have a large enough patent portpolio to talk Apple in to a de. If HTC loses to Apple here, it could set a precedence for Apple to after other Android device makers.
So it seems that HTC got nine patents from Google Patents which Google itself obtained earlier from Palm Inc., Motorola Inc. and Openwave Systems Inc. So using four of those patents (Motorola), HTC sued Apple today in federal court in Delaware, claiming infringement.
HTC also amended a complaint with the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) in Washington, alleging infringement of three patents first issued to Openwave and two others originally owned by Palm.

How To Remove Skype Mobile From Android (Verizon HTC Droid)

If you got an Android phone with Skype Mobile preinstalled, you may have found it is hard to remove. In fact all the information I have seen are pointing you to root my Android sites.
Various reports points to that on phones like HTC Droid Incredible on Verizon, eating the precious battery life and occupying vast chunks of phone's memory, plus storage.
So how do we remove this pesky app?
Looks like you do not have to go rooting your Android.
Information And Instructions;
You are done. Some people are using Titanium also to remove apps like this and of course it is your choice.

Instructions;
Get the root explorer app from Android Market, once launched, go to systems>apps and click on the Mount r/w button on the top, find the "VZW_Skype.apk" and delete it.

Looking just like HTC Evo 3D, the rumored HTC Evo 4G slated to be available on Sprint it seems. The twin 5MP cameras have been replaced with a single 8MP camera in the back and there is a 1.3MP front facing camera. The 4.3" qHD display supported by HTC Sense is supported by 1,2GHz Snapdragon processor and 2GB memory.

Android Megaminxer On HTC Desire Solves Megaminx, Dodecahedron Rubik Puzzle

I am sure you have had Rubik's cube in your hands and some of you may have resolved it as well. Certainly we have seen fast Rubik's cube puzzle resolver, on TV, Youtube etc. What you are about to watch is dodecahedron Rubik's puzzle, Megaminx solved by a robot instructed by an Android powered HTC Desire..
The Megaminx is a dodecahedron with 12 faces, each with 5 edges. Each face can be rotated in a similar way to the well-known Rubik's Cube puzzle. I have one on my desk and I am yest to solve the puzzle. I do not spend a lot of time on it but I use it to collect my thoughts when distracted by too many ideas and projects.
The robot which actually does the mechanical legwork of resolving puzzle is built out of LEGO using a Mindstorms NXT kit. A custom Android app running on a HTC Desire is the brain of the solver.
"The Megaminxer uses the phone's camera to capture images of each face of the Megaminx which it then processes to determine the colors of the scrambled puzzle. After working out the solution, the app transmits the moves to the NXT controller via bluetooth to instruct it to solve the puzzle.
The mechanism used by Megaminxer has been adapted from the "MultiCuber" robot designs as seen in MultiCuber 777.
According to the real brains behind the whole thing, the most challenging parts of the mechanical design were creating pentagonal shaped rings and modifying the tilting mechanism to cope with the obtuse angles between edges and faces using LEGO bricks that more naturally form shapes with right angles.
The Megaminxer software uses an enhanced table-driven algorithm developed from one previously created for solving the standard 3x3x3 Rubik's Cube puzzle."

HTC Desire 2 At MWC?
Looks like among many other goodies, we will be seeing HTC Desire 2 at the MWC, the Mobile World Congress.But the evidence is only the screen shot above mentioning the device, HTC Desire 2! The blog, HTCInside acquired the purported screen shot of Vodafone Germany’s internal inventory system.
If HTC Desire and HTC Desire HD are anything to go by, HTC Desire 2 should be an interesting Android 2.3 device, perhaps.

Facebook Denies Branded Phones From HTC, It Is Just Good Integration By HTC

Facebook is denying that it will release a facebook branded phone at the MWC, Mobile World Congress. Saying there is no such thing in the works.A lot of people including us (Facedroids) took what was published by a London Newspaper City A.M and ran with it.

Looks like HTC together with Facebook will showcase Two Android based phones as Facebook Phones, FaceDroids.
The phones will run on a tweaked version of Google’s Android operating system and will prominently display users’ Facebook messages and news feed on the home screen. Will they really stop sharing the user phone numbers.
As the FaceDroid rumor goes, Joe Hewitt (who worked on the Firefox web browser) and Matthew Papakipos (a leading member of the Google Chrome browser team) are thought to be behind the Facebook Phone.

HTC ADR6325, Verizon Branded Android 2..2 Device!
Verizon seem to be full of Droids these days. They have got another device, from HTC, lined up for their Droid 2 Line which includes the Droid R2-D2, a Star Wars themed phone. HTC ADR6325, is a full-QWERTY Android 2.2 handset sporting a 5 megapixel camera, micro-SD card slot, SIM card for global roaming without having to hack the device.

The mobile firmware site, Shipped ROMs announced today that it worked out a deal with HTC and will continue to operate. HTC sent a Cease and desist letter to Conflipper two weeks ago. They have agreed not to host test or carrier files. I think people will have to settle for torrents and other file sharing methods for those.

I have already removed all test files. They are talking with the engineers to get me a list together. They have said since I am doing my part to comply, that I have no reason to worry about the 2 weeks being up on July 1. That I am okay to keep everything online until this gets worked out.I wonder what will happen once the test files and carrier files are no longer available? Will the users still crowed the place.
So because of that, nothing will happen on July 1. I have asked about becoming a license partner with HTC, they said that is one option we could explore.

Conflipper, has been at Android devices and behind the most hacks on Android phones and a resource for many an Android users, providing ways to modify and make the phone a joy! even when they are not on it!.
Many people think HTC is wrong to send the C & D Letter and the community is going to be pretty active on the issue.
The Shipped-Roms community led by Conflipper, which is swamped to no access point now, received a "cease and desist," regarding the illegally-published/copied "original art work,". If you are lucky to get in, the letter, is published on Shipped-Roms.
I hope this will resolve peacefully, how ever good is HTC, it will not be big enough to stop shipped roms distributions. But they should think of comments like;
"HTC (High Tech Crap) should only thanksgiving us for fixing their crappy roms,if it wasnt for Rom Development they would sell half of their phones."Which not C & D letter can take down. Keep up at Conflipper Twitter account for latest.

Androids On The Rise At HTC Production Lines

Digitimes Telecom is reporting that HTC plans to increase it's production of Android based phones. Currently Android based phones enjoy 30% of the production line but will jump to 50% in 2010. This is not very good news for WINMO, Windows Mobile as HTC is one of the most prominent WINMO phone producers.
HTC will also launch a high-profile 3G handset based on Qualcomm's Brew Mobile Platform (BMP).
HTC has in house developped technologies such as TouchFlo 3D technology and HTC Sense interface that gives an edge over it's competitors.

HTC TouchFLO 3D (Manila v2.5)HTC is proving that beauty is more than skin deep when it comes to it's WinMo devices. When HTC Diamond2 and HTC Touch Pro2 get their upgrades this summer, looks like they paln to male it even hotter.
By looking at the screen shots, you may wonder or even forget what the OS running underneath, looking at one I wonder it is a Palm and the other makes me thing where did I see that on the iPhone. It is invitingly mobile look, rather than trying to provide vistaS. HTC seems to be serious about WInMo.

Android, T-Mobile G1, A Phone For Smart People.
The advertisements are already out for T-Mobile G1 (HTC Dream) , the first commercially available Android phone. It was good to hear about the press conference in New York but we did not get a chance to attend! I was busy replicating very important Oracle servers, all over the world, I did not even get to attend Oracle World This time!
The phone it self is going to be cheaper than iPhone and according to many not glitzy enough. (Any way I am not a big bling bling man, except for good watches.). HTC / Google /T-Mobile G1 will sell for $180 for existing customers and and comes with two data plans: $25 a month which gives unlimited Web access and limited text messaging and $35 a month with unlimited everything. Android Phone (HTC Dream) To Carry Google Brand!
According to the rumors and news, the Android phone will have Google brand on them and I think it is only fitting. Google has stepped up to the plate and shaken the stances that mobile phone companies, all of them, iron grips on us.
The forth coming HTC Dream that will be released soon. The price is estimated to be $199 and T-Mobile will reveal the plans that it says are aggressive, soon. After all we have been saying Google Phone Coming Soon for long time!
