Yes if Techcrunch is right it seems. Facebook alarmed by the iPhone and Google's own Android, Nexus One, has quietly been building a phone of it's own, Facephone! Facepalm on you Google, and you too Apple. The facebook phone said to be worked on by two high level Facebook employees – Joe Hewitt and Matthew Papakipos. Yes that is iPhone facebook app Joe Hewitt. Papakipos has sailed from Google Chrome to facebook. TC thinks it will be a low cost phone around $50 with all the facebook features users want built in and from what I read it is going to be just a phone with facebook, one that you can call your friends just shouting the name of your friend at the phone. I think it will take much more than that to make me use facebook phone, my old iPhone 3G and my T-Mobile G1, can do all those and more. Once I get my replacement for Apple 3G, soon, it is going to be hard to move me, to a cheap phone. Then again, most of the facebook users are teenagers with smaller pockets. T-Mobile HTC G2 with Google http://snapvoip.blogspot.com/ T-Mobile has confirmed that the new HTC G2, a HSPA+ phone, a replacement for the HTC G1 is on the way and every one can sign up for the Pre-sales orders. T-Mobile G1 owners get the priority. The phone will sport Android 2.2 Froyo and carries a lot of Google centric capabilities like, Voice Actions for Google Search; integrated access to Google's Internet calling service, Google Voice(somethin iPhone can't do or wont do); and the regulars, Gmail to Google Maps. T-Mobile was the first US carrier to release an Android based phone, T-Mobile G1.

The phone is not 4G but operates on HSPA+ network which is said to reach speeds of 21Mbps. T-Mobile already announced that it has upgraded it's 3G network to HSPA+ in 25 major metropolitan areas. HSPA+, also known as "evolved HSPA".
The Phone, The T-Mobile G2, carries an 800MHz Snapdragon processor, a 3.7-inch touch screen display, and Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth capability with slide out keyboard on hinges. It also has support for a 32-GB microSD card, a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash and auto focus, and shoots video in 720p HD resolution. The G2 also offers smartphone essentials such as easy access to personal and work e-mail, including support for Microsoft® Exchange e-mail, contacts and calendar; social networking; and instant messaging.
According to various news sources, Nexus One will be out on January 5th, 2010 at prices ranging from $180 with two year contract with T-Mobile and $530 "unlocked". Either way the phone will be a powerful one and the second coming of Google Phone. The initial Google Phone Coming Soon did well for Google and in some what micro scale to this blog. Sources also tell us that outside of T-Moble (say AT&T) the phone will operate in 2G mode. So it might be worth while to do some research before jumping in with a Nexus One. The wild wild west skydiving party in San Francisco was not bad either. The MyTouch 3G is available in three colors, black, white and merlot. The phone sells for $199.99 with a 2 years service contract. One of the free apps provided with the phone, Sherpa which was created by Geodelic, guides you like a true Sherpa through the mobile landscape which is not much different from conquering the mighty Himalayas. Well the Google Android team has put together a live CD calle LiveAndroid. At LiveAndroid project, you can download a LiveCD disc image of the Google Android OS and give it it a wirl on your pc without damaging any content in it.
Once you download the CD image, burn it on to a CD and boot the pc from your CD ROm drive withg the CD in it.
Viola, your PC is a True Android now, a live one at that.
If you want to be more adventurous, you can mount the CD image on VirtualBox or Microsoft Virtual PC this will allow your to run the LiveAndroid while being able to show your boss that your are still working. You can also get it on a USB Key by following the instructions on Ubuntu Forum here.

The GPS app for Android provides you with voice-recognition for hands-free control, live traffic updates, a POI database including restaurant reviews and gas prices, all presented through a very nice 3D interface. Basically all you get with a stand alone GPS unit, a good one. The application has a price tag of $10 a month but after it is released on February 24th, it will be free for a month for you to check out if it is for you.

Remember public outcry when T-Mobile had 1GB cap on unlimited data plans. T-Mobile back paddled but now again seem to be floating forward in the stream through some unconfirmed reports. Android community is reporting that data cap is coming back but it is said to be 10GB. I hope they will not call this unlimited! This time the G1 cap seem to expand to all the T-Mobile phones with internet access. With all that G1 always connected to the internet business, (May be they are doing it to find out if you are using VoIP, Mobile VoIP on the G1) I really hope someone sensible releases an Android, So I can say The True Android is Coming Soon

According to a customer who took the G1 to UK and coming back to find a bill $102.85 in data roaming, with data roaming, data sync and 3G were turned off. A T-Mobile customer service supervisor has revealed that T-Mobile G1 always access internet, even if those services were turned off! May be to tell T-Mobile where you are! But this new head phone adapter allows you to listen to music that you bought at Amazon with your favorite headset or plug the phone into your cars aux port. Many of the users are still on the RC19 and awaiting the RC28 update when some users have reported to Endgadget about the updates they received. Both reports that it sent the phone into convulsions of showing an image of chip being flashed and susequent rebooting. But after few such "OMG what is going on with my Phone" moments, and looks like an eon (5 minutes) phone settles down and you can start eating away into your monthly voice data and other mumbo jumbo you subscribed.
