Domo Domome http://snapvoip.blogspot.com/
The same people who brought you Sekai Camera, augmented reality service, has released a new mobile app for iPhone and Android, Domo. The app is being tauted as a pre-social because it allows strangers to become socially connected.
Domo gathers information from your public profile in Facebook, and let the other users around you see it and find out what he(she) and you have in common. It allows one to find people who shares common interests,  exchange messages or just say hello to get connected.

Type of interests you can share with domo
- Work
- Education
- Entertainments (Movies/TVs/Musics/Books)
- Groups
- Other things you liked using Facebook
Features
- Fine control of privacy. NO UNWILLING PRIVACY INVASION.
- Importing profiles from Facebook.
- Browsing the people around you.
- Browsing the interests they have.
- Find out what interests other people share with you in common.
- Exchange text messages and pictures.
- Say domo.
(The term "domo" means a lot in Japanese. For example, it can be used for "hello", "thank you", "sorry" and so on.) (this I tend not to agree because Domo is an adjective to most of the above words, like in "Domo Arigatau" (Thank you, very much, Arigatau = thank you)

Google Reader app for Android Update Brings New WIdgets And More.

If you use Google reader like I do, you will love the new Google reader update for Android update. Just like the desktop, now through "Unread Count Widget" which can show you number of items to read, categorized by feed, label, person or all items on the home screen and clicking on the icon will take you direct to the items.
"News Ticker Widget", well it stream headlines on you home screen and the widget will cycle through items on your reader.

The old "Mark Previous as read" feature is back. now you can mark all items prior to the current screen in your list as read, with one click.

Even though the reader works on all Android versions since 1.6, you will need to have Android 2.2+ to use the widgets.
As always, the Google Reader App could be downloaded from Android Market.

(I read a bunch of comments on the market regarding the force closing on items with video. But as usual commenters did not give much information, other than crashing, so it could be anything)

Google Translate On Your iPhone

Some clever people at Google Mobile have ported, actually built an iPhone interface to Google Translate. The difference is that it is optimized for speed and it holds on to the translations that you have done already and give back to you if you request the same later.
The data transfer cost if you are wondering about (if you do, go get an unlimited data plan, it is much cheaper!) is averaging around 300 translations per 1MB download of data.

So if you are interested point your iPhone or iPOD touch browser at translate.google.com.
